Stretching Nymo
Sandra Paluzzi
Nymo thread is great for many purposes, but it does stretch over time. You can pre stretch it before beading to preserve the integrity of your finished piece. Cut off sufficient thread for your project. You'll want to stretch 6 to 9 inches at a time. I wrap both ends of the 6 inch length around pencils (using the pencils as dowels) and gently tug on both pencils to stretch the nymo. Then I just unwind the thread, take up the next length and tug away until I have stretched the whole length of thread. I have also switched many projects away from nymo to dandyline, a stronger, near zero stretch thread put out by Beadalon.
