Towels and Beading

Sandy Paluzz

The Bead Peddler®

I typically bead on a white towel.  The towel catches the beads and keeps them in place.

Last month, a reader, Debra Long, wrote in another tip involving towels and beading.  Debra said, "I read your tips on scanning and photographing beads and jewelry. I have a tip that works well for me. Often times when scanning the top won't lay flat and light will get in. As I'm sure you know that makes your picture dark. To avoid that I keep a heavy beach towel on the shelf neck to the scanner and use it to completely cover the scanner while its in operation. This shuts out all the light. It does have to be a very large and thick towel to work though. "

So there you have it - two reasons to keep a towel at your beading station.
