Working With Memory Wire
Sandra Paluzzi
The Bead Peddler
®

Memory wire is strong.  The ends can be finished in one of several ways:

1.  Glue on bead caps using specially formulated glue such as E-6000.

2.  Use round nose pliers to make an ending loop with the wire.  Memory wire is annealed and difficult to bend.  It is important to use high quality, strong pliers when working with memory wire.  You can also try heating the end of the wire over the flame of a cigarette lighter to destroy the annealing.  You will destroy the annealing and make the memory  wire more malleable.

3. A reader, Saroj Soans, just emailed that you can either crimp or  glue a crimp bead onto the ends of the wire to hold the beads in place.
