With just a couple of beads and a little bit of wire, you can make these unique earrings.  You can get real creative with this pattern using longer wires, colored wire, larger beads or metal beads.  Once you learn the pattern you can incorporate other shaped beads in place of the round.

Just have fun!

MATERIALS:

10” - 20 gauge sterling wire or wire of your choice.

2 – 6mm round beads

 TOOLS:

Flush nose pliers

Round nose pliers

Flat nose pliers

Rounder/bur cup or file to smooth ends

Not shown: Dowel or other round object to shape the earrings over.

Step 1

Start by cutting your wire into two 5” pieces.  Now is a good time to smooth the ends with your rounder or file.

Step 2

Bend the wire over the dowel leaving about 2” on one side and 3” on the other side

Step 3

Using your fingers gently shape both sides into a gentle curve

Step 4

Place your bead on the end of the longer side making sure the wire doesn’t protrude from the end.  Gently begin to curl the wire around the bead

Step 5

Curl the wire until it crosses over where you started.  At this point  grab it with your flat nose pliers and continue winding the wire around the bead.  Wind a little at a time,  moving your pliers up along the wires as you go.  This makes the winding easier and insures a neat wire on top of wire wrap.

Step 6

Bring the wire on around and back up the other side until your starting wire is on top.  The picture to your left shows what the earring should look like at the end of this step.

 Step 7

Again using your fingers, gently shape the earrings into a nice gentle curvy shape.
