TOOLS: Flush cutters Round nose pliers Chain nose pliers Flat nose pliers |
SUPPLIES:
12” of 20 gauge round colored craft wire 4 - 12mm beads One pair of ear wires
NOTE: You can use Sterling or Gold Fill wire if you wish. You can also use smaller or larger beads or even mix two sizes. Mainly just have fun making and wearing them. |
STEP 1
Thread one bead onto your wire and slide down until the base is about 2 ¾” from the top. You can pre-mark this measurement with a marking pen if you like.
Take the tail of your wire and bend it up curving around your bead |
STEP2
Now wind that wire around your top wire a couple of times keeping it close to your bead. |
STEP 3
Slide on your second bead and bring your tail wire up and around your bead and make a couple of wraps around the center wire as before. |
STEP 4
Clip off the excess wire from your tail and snug to the center wire with your flat nose pliers |
STEP 5
To make your top loop, take your round nose pliers and place on wire just a bit up from the top of the bead wrap. Take the end of your wire and bring it around as shown |
STEP 6
Wrap your tail around two or three times until both wound wraps meet.
Now make your second earring the same way. HINT: You can do your windings and wraps in opposite directions so your earrings mirror each other.
Once both earrings are complete add your ear wires and have fun! |
Make several pair in different colors and you’re ready to have some Summer Fun! |
