TOOLS AND SUPPLIES:

Flush cutters

Crimp pliers

Round nose pliers

.019 Accu~flex or similar – 10” to 12”

Two 1 ½” head pins

Two silver earwires

Two silver crimp beads

19 Emerald green crystals

16 White glass pearls

One silver jump ring and clasp

Optional: Silver crimp covers (not shown)

STEP 1:

Take your beading wire and run it through your crimp bead, through your clasp ring and back down through your crimp bead.  Pull snug leaving just a little space.  Crimp your bead with your crimp pliers.  This is how your piece should look at this point.

Click here to see details on crimping.

STEP 2:

Take two pearls and four crystals and lay them aside for now.  These will be used in your earrings.

Begin stringing your beads starting with a crystal followed by a pearl then crystal and so forth.  Make sure you slip your beads over that short tail as well.

STEP 3:

Once you have strung your 15 crystals and 14 pearls you’re ready to finish with the other end of your clasp

STEP 4:

Slip a crimp bead onto your stringing wire, through the jump ring and back down through the crimp bead.  Snug everything leaving just a tiny bit of space between the crimp bead and your crystal.  Using your crimp pliers crimp the bead snugly.

STEP 5:

Now take the tail of your beading wire and run back through two or three beads.  Pull as snug as possible and clip with your flush cutters.  Make sure you work any ends into the center so they don’t show.

If you’re using crimp covers now is the best time to put them on.

Step 6

The earrings are super easy.  Simply take and place one crystal, one pearl and one crystal on a head pin

Step 7:

Take your round nose pliers and hold your head pin just above your last bead and bend over.  We’re going to make a simple hangman’s noose here.

Step 8:

Bring the headpin tail around and back over the base.  Wrap around the base stem a couple of time or so and snug the end.

Make the other earring following steps 6-8. Gently open the loop on the earwire with your round nose pliers.  This opening can be quite small, just large enough so your earring will slide into the opening.  Finally close your open loop with the round nose pliers and your done.

Hope you enjoy this little tutorial

as much as you do the greening of spring
