Beaded Watches
By Sandy
Paluzzi Watches are tricky to design. Both sides of the watch face should be symmetrical. The watch face itself takes an inch of the design. The clasp takes another 1/2 inch. This leaves less than 3 inches on each side for beads. Therefore, I feel you need a small pattern. Next month we'll be showing jewelry made with rice shaped beads. Email your pictures to spaluzzi@beadingtimes.com. As always, space is limited and designs are juried. We'll get back to you as soon as we receive your picture.A copper watch face and spacers pick up the copper veins in these beads. I like to co-ordinate the shape of the watch face with the shape of the beads and clasp.
These blue goldstone scarab beads are large so I put a tiny spacer between them to keep my pattern in proportion for a watch.
I like using beads of interest such as these facetted black lip shell rounded ovals. I feel they add interest to the watch and keep it from being boring
