I decided to start this month's column with a
design that is all about ovals.
BM Jewelry Designs
surrounds the neck with carnelian ovals and dangles one
sideways as the start of the centerpiece. The horn at
the bottom provides the finishing touch. |
 |
LT Creationz
designs to mix it up with one of my favorite design elements.
She alternates ovals and crosses to create a chunky look
that's just great for this time of year. |
 |
This design by Jan Geisen
puts the focus on handmade chrysanthemum polymer clay
beads. I love the look created by using the ovals length
wise and doubling the cord around the neck. |
 |
Here the concept of multi strands is taken to
a different level by Designs by Lynn Novelli.
Multi strands of ovals are accented with gold coin spacers to
create an elegant necklace. |
 |
I just love the shimmer of colors in this
necklace and bracelet set from the co-operative site, Bead Work Artists
. Huge ovals create a sparkling centerpiece for the
pieces. |
 |
Imagine this bracelet at the beach.

 |
La Bijouterie has shown a lot of creativity with this
snowflake obsidian bracelet. The large ovals are
separated by triple strand spacers to create this go
everywhere look. |
 |
Pole Star's Shop shows this fantastic bracelet of amethyst colored ovals.
The orange lucite flower just pops in an unexpected color
combinaton. |
 |
Again, in this bracelet, color provides the
focus.
Apples & Oranges uses bright blue ovals as the key
part of this classic but boldly colored bracelet. |
 |
Jewelry Just For Pretty
takes us back to the soft side of jewelry. This romantic
pink piece features a pink and gold twisted oval. |
 |
And yet another look for ovals - a lot of
glitz. These large vintage Swarovski ovals will steal
the spotlight wherever they go. Design by

 |
EC Jewelry Design brings us a very feminine carefree
bracelet with wooden beads separated with dangling charms. |
 |
Endless Flatland comes up with a classic charm bracelet by
combining pearls with sterling silver. Here the ovals
encircle the wrist while rounds dangle. |
 |
This anklet furthers the charm concept. Funky Stones
alternates oval and round bead dangles from a simple chain. |
 |
Now we'll go from the ankle all the way up to the ears.
Ovals just seem to be made for earrings. Einat Agmon Jewelry
fills a sterling hoop by wire wrapping pearls and garnet in an
asymmetrical design |
 |
Vintage Lucite 7 also fills an oval, this time with
another oval. The various components of these earrings
create a very earthy feeling. |
 |
Silver Lining Designs
switches the oval to the top of the earring in these earthtone
earrings featuring enameled oval beads. Despite the size
of the earrings, I get a very light and airy feel from them. |
 |
Here we have another
entirely different type of oval on the top of the earrings.
These beautiful earrings featured an embossed metal bead hand
cut by Kathryn Bowman Studio
especially for these earrings |
| |
|
 |
JeweLyrie
flips the oval labradorite stones on their side and dangles
silver flowers over the top. |
 |
This pair of earrings is deceptively simple.
A very plain white fluted oval is capped and put on earwires.
What makes this earrings stand out is the use of brass, a
material that is becoming more and more popular today.
Yet these earrings have a very vintage look that is all au
courant. Design by Anna Kay Creations |
