    Color Your World Using Beads
as Feng Shui Adjustments

When you think of Feng Shui your initial visuals likely include crystals, mirrors and red tassels.  The principles of this ancient Chinese Feng Shui system are about creating harmony and balance in environments using a number of items, placement of items and your intention for a certain something to change or manifest in your life.  “It is all about energy” and what quality or essence of energy you intend and create.

The use of color is one of the Nine Basic Feng Shui Principles that encourages a response from the energy in a space or within a person’s inner world, i.e. mood.

Red is a beloved color for its energy frequency and characteristic to attract chi.  Red doors, a touch of red in the love/relationship gua (area) of your home and wearing red when you want to exude power and stand out in a crowd are each a use of red for a desired affect.  Including red and other colors in personal or decorative accessories makes sense for whatever your intent may be.

In Feng Shui each gua of the Bagua, the tool we apply to sections of your home, office or space, has an associated color.  The use of colored beads can play a roll in the way colors correspond to the Feng Shui Bagua.

The following are a few examples of ways colored beaded items can support a goal in a particular part of your life.  String them with a pure quartz crystal to further heighten the potency of their energy.

Beneficial Feng Shui placements, as defined by the Bagua, and qualities of each color follow.  Please be mindful that colors and guas may have a different representation depending upon the particular school of Feng Shui; but basically the applications are similar:

Natural Quartz Crystal Beads – Crystals are known for their healing qualities.  They catch and refract the light and disperse prisms throughout a space.  They naturally harmonize and energize the energy of our spaces and our bodies.  In Feng Shui we utilize the properties of crystals to amplify, focus, transmit and transform energy in spaces and within ourselves.
Placement: Place clear quartz crystals in any space where you want to change and move energy.  Also, you can wear crystals as jewelry to affect the energy of yourself and that directly around you.

Red Beads – Red evokes beauty and energy, virtue and truth.  The color red is known to ward off evil and has characteristics beneficial to a good life, and bringing luck, love, prosperity and happiness into your life.
Placement: Fame & Reputation area of your space.

Purple Beads – Long attributed to royalty and wealth, purple symbolizes spiritual awareness, artistic talent and creativity.
Placement: In the Wealth area of your space.

Green Beads - Green symbolizes harmony, balance, healing and health.  It can promote a peaceful, calming environment.
Placement:  Office and the career Gua of the Bagua.  This works if you are seeking to grow your  business and/or to grow as a person.

Black Beads - The color black is associated with money and income.  It is the color of the water element in Feng Shui and denotes “movement” and “transformation.”
Placement:  Black is the color of the career gua on the Bagua, so placing a black-beaded item in the career gua of your space and/or the office itself is appropriate to support your career.

These are a few uses of beads as Feng Shui cures.  There are many more ways to energize a space using color and beads.

A few practical ways to use colors and beads is in your home, office and personal accessories.  Switch out the mundane items in your life and “step up” to beauty and increased energy in new places with beaded fan pulls, purse fobs, sun catchers, eyeglass tethers, wine glass rings and yard art.  Color your world with beads and Feng Shui, sit back and enjoy the new joy and harmony that comes into your life!

Enjoy the holiday season and each moment.  Be mindful to keep your chi rising!
